These Fall colors! There is nothing I love more than an Engagement Session in the fall where the trees are still rocking the warm, colorful tones. But to also throw in some beautiful, tall Pine Trees?! I mean, come on. What’s not to love about all of that? The Wildcat Den State Park was the most perfect backdrop for Travis and Kelsey’s Engagement Session.
When Kelsey first contacted me, she had already known that Photography was one of the top priorities in her planning process. When a potential Bride emphasizes that in the initial conversation, I already know regardless of everything else, It’s going to be a great fit. I’ve had people say to me before “I’m probably not your ideal client because … ” My response to that is always the same. “If you value Photography and know how important it is for your Wedding Day, you ARE my ideal client.”
“I have always joked there is no such thing as love at first sight, but Travis changed that for me.” Those were the words Kelsey used describe the story of how her and Travis began dating. Their relationship was one of those, meet through mutual friends, make a connection, back away from the connection due to bad timing, and re connect years later to realize it was always meant to be. You know, the typical Hallmark movie kinda story line that gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME!
Kelsey is lucky enough to be best friends with a photographer. They know the ropes and are always modeling for her in different situations and locations. So it was only perfect that Travis plan the engagement during one of these shoots. She didn’t even know it was coming because they do this kind of thing so often. They planned a weekend vacation to Starved Rock State Park in Oglesby, IL. That’s where they would do a couple shoots, relax and enjoy a quiet weekend. After hiking for about 2 hours one day to find the perfect waterfall, they got into a few poses and that’s when Travis got down on one knee to propose. They planned it out perfectly and it was all captured on photo and video! How perfect, right?!
I’ve had a great time so far getting to know Travis and Kelsey. I know for a fact that their 2020 Fall Wedding Day is going to be perfect!
